About Us – The Heart Behind Nay Nay's Kitchen

Nay Nay's Kitchen didn't start as a business. It started as love on a plate.

My wife first began making our chilli sauce just for home. It was her way of adding warmth, flavour, and a little fire to family meals. Whenever people came over, we'd share the sauce with them—no labels, no brand, just a family recipe in a simple container.

The reaction was always the same: first a pause… then wide eyes… then: "This is amazing. You should be selling this."

So we listened. We started making bigger batches and selling them at her work, my work, and at our daughter's school. Word spread. At one stage, a few people at her workplace were even buying in bulk and reselling the sauce at a mark-up from their homes. That's when we realised this wasn't just "a nice sauce"—it was a product people believed in.

Then COVID happened. Like many small dreams, production stopped. Life shifted into survival mode, and the pots went quiet.

👩‍🍳 A New Chapter: The Daughters, the Dream & YouTube

Fast forward to December 2024.

During the school holidays, I had a conversation with our youngest daughter, Sherminay. She loves cooking and dreams of becoming a chef when she finishes school. I told her:

"If you start a YouTube channel now, you can pay for your own studies one day, build your brand early, and create a portfolio of evidence while you're still at school."

She didn't just nod—she took action.

In January 2025, she and her sister, Ferinience, launched the Nay Nay's Kitchen YouTube channel. Together they host the channel, cook, present, and bring our family recipes to life on screen. Behind the scenes, I help by editing and publishing the videos—so it truly is a full family production.

In just two months, they grew the channel from 0 to 82 subscribers, before pausing for school and health reasons.

During that time, as they cooked and filmed, the sauce they were making naturally started being called: "Nay Nay's Kitchen Chilli Sauce."

The name stuck.

Why "Nay Nay"?

From the time she could speak, Sherminay couldn't say her own name properly. She'd say "Nay Nay." It was adorable. It was hers. And it became a family thing.

She's Nay Nay in this house—and now, she's Nay Nay in the kitchen too.

So when the channel became real and the sauce got its name, it only made sense. This is her kitchen. Her space. Her legacy in the making.

🌶️ Bringing It All Back

With the channel launched and the sauce back in rotation, I wanted to take it seriously this time.

That's why I:

  • Bought the domain: www.naynayskitchen.co.za
  • Built this website to tell the story properly
  • Set up a system where people can buy the sauce online and choose their delivery or collection option
  • Explored bulk supply partnerships with restaurants and food brands
  • Set up a CRM to manage orders, customer relationships, and scale operations

Because the people who believed in the sauce years ago… still believe in it. And so do we.

What Nay Nay's Kitchen Really Is

This isn't about just making a product.

It's about:

  • Building a legacy with my daughters
  • Teaching them entrepreneurship, marketing, operations, content creation, and business
  • Giving Sherminay a head start in the culinary world—a personal brand, a portfolio, and a business before she even finishes school
  • Creating something bigger than us—a product people trust, a brand that means something, and a story that's worth telling
