Spicy South African Chicken Wrap
A bold and flavour-packed South African chicken wrap made with crispy fried chicken strips, melted cheese, fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and creamy mayonnaise, finished with Nay-Nay’s Kitchen Sweet Heat Sauce for the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. - 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon White pepper (or black pepper)
- 1 medium Tomato sliced
- 1 large Egg
- 3 tablespoons Mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded lettuce Lettuce (or 4 large leaves)
- 500 grams Chicken breast fillets (cut into strips)
- 2 cups Flour (seasoned)
- 4 wraps Wraps
- 4 tablespoons Oil
- 4 slices Cheese slices
- 1/2 cup Extra flour (for coating)
- 4 tablespoons Nay-Nay’s Kitchen Sweet Heat Sauce (Alternative: tomato sauce, chilli sauce, sweet chilli sauce)

Place a pan on the stove and add the oil. Heat on medium.

Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk. Add salt and white (or black) pepper.

Roll the chicken strips in flour. Dip the floured chicken into the egg mixture. Roll the chicken back into the flour to coat again (flour, egg, flour).

Add the coated chicken strips to the hot pan with oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy.

Remove the pan from the stove.

Lay out the wraps. Spread mayonnaise evenly over each wrap. Add Nay-Nay’s Kitchen Sweet Heat Sauce on top of the mayonnaise and spread. Slice the cheese in half and place it in a row in the centre of each wrap. Place two chicken strips per wrap on top of the cheese. Add two tomato slices per wrap. Season lightly with a pinch of salt and pepper. Add lettuce on top.

Add a small amount of butter to the opposite ends of each wrap. Fold the wrap inward and place into a hot pan. Fry until golden brown and lightly toasted.

Remove the pan from the stove and turn off the heat.

Plate and serve hot with a drink of your choice.
